Established in 2002 in Prague, Mamacallas is a group of connected artists: Pierre Nadaud, choreographer, stage director and dancer; Jan Beneš-McGadie, light and set designer; Zdenka Svíteková dancer and teacher; David Vrbík, composer and sound designer, and Kamila Murlová, producer.

Since 2000, the Mamacallas company has collaborated with the main contemporary art venues in Prague and the Czech Republic: the Alfred ve dvoře theatre, the Ponec theatre and the NOD experimental space. The company performed in Czech Republic, Germany, France, Italy, Hungaria and is involved in residence´s programs in France, Hungaria and Germany.

Pierre Nadaud (FR)

 

 

Graduated in philosophy (DEA-thesis work-"Tiredness and exhausting, a deleuze's ethics" in Paris VIII), he accomplished study of non verbal theatre and dance in AMU, Academy of fine arts in Prague. He worked with Lizzy Le Quesne, Karine Ponties, and Paco Decina.

From 2002 he is working in Prague and created the Mamacallas company in 2004.

2006-2007 -EXTRACTION, trio, in coproduction with Tanec Praha o.s. / Divadlo Ponec (Praha) and in collaboration with Cie Beau Geste / Dominique Boivin (France), Schloss Broellin (Germany) and Theatre 29 (Pardubice)

2006-2007 -DAY OF IRE, for 4 autors  (1 writer-performer, 1 guitar player-performer, 1 light designer-performer and 1 choreographer-dancer-performer), in coproduction with MOTUS o.s. / Theatre Alfred ve dvoře (Prague) and in collaboration with L1 in Budapest (Hongaria)

2005-2006 -FIELDS, four dance solos in a concert in coproduction with Universal prostor Nod

2004 -17 ANSWERS, solo for Jan Beneš Mc Gadie and 17 STEPS, male dance trio in coproduction with Duncan Center and in cooperation with Adriatikuvadi

2004 -BAKARABIA (Trab el Beldane), sextet, tird price from Czech Dnace Platform, in coproduction with Tanec Praha o.s. / Theatre Ponec

2003 -BLUMFIELD-STARÝ MLÁDENEC, directing opera by Marek Keprt in the project Bušení na železnou oponu for the National Theatre -Stavovské divadlo- Prague

2003 -ITS LIGHT BODY, duet for one man and a little girl, in coproduction with MOTUS o.s. / Theatre Alfred ve dvoře

Jan Beneš-McGadie (CZ)

 

 

graduated from the conservatory Duncan centre in Praha and Laban centre in London. As dancer and technician he collaborated for several years with the international dance cie DEJA DONNE directed by Lenka Flory and Simone Sandroni. He created several pieces e.g. “Inappropriate for living”, Dr.Schreck Klinik – Das Blutig Kabinet”.... As light designer he creates lights for numerous performances and leads workshops on theatre lighting. See Adriatikuvadi
